Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley Applauds Breeze Airways Inaugural Flight at John Wayne Airport

Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley released a statement following Breeze Airways’ inaugural flight today at John Wayne Airport (JWA) where she joined Breeze Airways CEO David Neeleman, JWA Director Charlene Reynolds, and Chair Don Wagner for a ceremonial champagne christening.

“In addition to adding new travel destinations, Breeze Airways also demonstrates our commitment to building partnerships that move us towards our long-term goals of mitigating noise impacts and adopting sustainable aviation practices,” said Supervisor Foley. “Breeze Airways brings a modern fleet of planes with technology that lower fuel burn, carbon emissions, and noise as well as new destination options and new economic opportunities to Orange County. We will continue exploring innovative opportunities for new sustainable technologies to allow for cleaner skies and healthier communities.

JWA’s latest airline partnership aligns with Supervisor Foley’s goal of bringing climate action at the airport, bringing a fleet of planes that deliver 25% lower fuel burn than previous generations of aircraft and utilizes better technology that reduces noise footprint and carbon emissions.

Starting today, Breeze Airways will provide direct flights to new cities like Orlando and Provo, connecting Orange County to new opportunities for travel and economic growth. Learn more about Breeze Airways here.
