Fifth District

The Fifth District encompasses the cities of Aliso Viejo, Costa Mesa, Dana Point, a large portion of Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Newport Beach, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, as well as the unincorporated areas of Coto de Caza, Emerald Bay, Ladera Ranch, Las Flores, Rancho Mission Viejo, Stonecliffe and Wagon Wheel – all of which I am extremely honored to serve.

District 5 is blessed with a remarkable landscape, amazing beaches, iconic tourist venues, rich arts culture, and word-class shopping destinations. With our majestic mountains, idyllic wilderness areas, picturesque parks, serene coastal hills & canyons, historical sites, and charming communities, the Fifth District provides a quality of life truly unsurpassed.

Home to well over 650,000 residents, the Fifth District represents the second largest Orange County District in total area – covering 227 square miles. The Fifth District also includes 35 miles of exquisite coastline, over 26 square miles of County Parks, 2 public harbors, John Wayne Airport, 12 libraries, and over 5 square miles of National Forest.

  • Description: Heritage Hill Historical Park preserves some of Orange Countys rich cultural heritage through a collection of four historic buildings. Fully restored and furnished, they represent distinct eras in the early development of the Saddleback Valley and the town of El Toro. The Mexican Rancho era is typified by the circa 1863 Serrano Adobe. The 1890 El Toro Grammar School and 1891 St. Georges Episcopal Mission are representative of the founding of El Toro. And the citrus farming days of the early 20th century are called into mind by the 1908 Harvey Bennett Ranch House.

The park ecosystem is primarily coastal sage scrub, with maritime chaparral, oak woodlands, riparian habitats and includes the only natural lake in Orange County.   • Description: There are few settings in Orange County as idyllic as Laguna Niguel Regional Park. Acres of open grass and more than 2,000 shade trees surround a tranquil lake. Below the surface of the lake swim thousands of trout, and in the center of the lake is an island bird sanctuary. All around the lake, gentle paths wind through the park, leading to picnic areas, playgrounds and a sense of peaceful well-being for all who visit.
