Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley released her 2023 Year in Review, which consists of updates on Supervisor Foley’s County projects, initiatives, priorities, and community investments in the Fifth District.
“Our office ended 2023 strong following a proactive, productive year full of exciting changes and solutions to significant challenges at the County of Orange and in District 5,” said Supervisor Katrina Foley. “I am honored to serve and proud of the work we accomplished together so far. Please review our 2023 accomplishments and highlights that embody our team’s strong work ethic.”
Representing the Fifth District, Supervisor Foley’s priorities include:
- Supporting public safety, preventing crime, cleaning up our streets, and ensuring safe neighborhoods.
- Reducing homelessness by investing in comprehensive health services and long-term housing for veterans, foster youth, and seniors.
- Investing in sustainable infrastructure to increase regional mobility while planning for climate resiliency to protect communities, open space, and beaches.
- Revitalizing the middle class and supporting small businesses by creating local jobs, building attainable housing, and expanding career technical education.
- Safeguarding taxpayer dollars and improving access to County services by cutting through red tape.
The Year in Review includes several important initiatives related to Climate Action, Prevention of Homelessness, Dana Point Harbor Revitalization, John Wayne Airport, Fire Safety and Prevention, Sand Replenishment, and Transportation projects.
As County Supervisor, Supervisor Foley’s office budget community investments include:
- $729,000 to Orange County small businesses & local Chambers of Commerce.
- $425,000 for climate conservation and environmental education.
- $232,000 for the arts, after school classes, neighborhood improvements, and local community organizations.
- $131,000 for supporting public safety, veterans, seniors, and combatting homelessness.
