Statement from Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley in Response to Tentative Agreement between OCTA and Teamsters Local 952

ORANGE COUNTY, California – Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley, who sits on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) released the following statement today in response to today’s tentative agreement reached between the OCTA and Teamsters Local 952, the union that represents the coach(bus) operators. The previous contract expired in April 2021.

“This morning, OCTA reached a tentative labor agreement with the Teamsters that, once ratified, will avert a strike that could have impacted up to 30,000 daily commuters in some of our most vulnerable communities in our County," said Supervisor Foley. “My hope is this agreement will give our bus drivers the raises they deserve for the difficult work they do, in addition to being afforded the dignity to have proper lunch and restroom breaks.”

The tentative agreement must still be ratified by the members of Teamsters Local 952, later this week, and then voted on by the OCTA Board of Directors.

Supervisor Katrina Foley currently represents Orange County’s Second District, which currently includes Santa Ana and portions of Garden Grove, Tustin, Orange, and Anaheim.
